In a recent episode of the Jolera Interview Series, Greg Bruzas, founder and CEO of DirectDial and Thinq Technologies in London, Ontario, shared insights into the formation of DirectMSP. One of his top priorities for this new venture was to bring on a top executive with a deep understanding of managed services and as-a-service solutions to lead the company’s expansion into this market.
Enter Russel Reuser, a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience with high-profile companies like Telus and Graycon. Reuser has joined DirectMSP as the Director of IT Services, tasked with developing the company’s marketplace strategy. In the interview, Reuser discussed his vision for DirectMSP and the valuable role Jolera plays in it.
“When I first met Greg Bruzas and Bill King from DirectDial, the excitement was palpable. My career has been in professional services, and it was clear to me from that first conversation that they were approaching this the right way,” Reuser said. “When you’re entering a new market or business venture, you need more than just a strategy—you need the right people, processes, technology, and partners, but most importantly, you need passion. I was energized by theirs.”
DirectMSP represents a new direction for Bruzas, who founded DirectDial in 1997 with the goal of simplifying business for professionals. Over the years, DirectDial has honed its supply chain and e-commerce capabilities, supporting more than 100,000 organizations across Canada. Today, more than 25 years later, DirectDial is one of Canada’s top solution providers, regularly recognized on the annual CDN Top 100 Solution Provider list.
During the interview, Reuser emphasized the importance of the Jolera partnership for DirectMSP, shared details about the initial elements of his strategy, and explained why a fresh approach to managed services is essential in today’s marketplace.
“Greg spoke to me about the journey to success and the joy of accomplishment. That’s what DirectMSP is focused on,” Reuser explained. “I’ve built many relationships in the Canadian tech sector by guiding clients toward the best possible outcomes for their business. With Jolera’s support, DirectMSP will take that to the next level. It’s going to be powerful.”
